LET'S HAVE A SERIOUS LOVE JONES SESSION WITH THESE 5 DOPE POEMS BY 5 OF MY FAVES!

What's the best part about Friday? I guess a sense of freedom from the 9-5 grind. However, we can always feel free if we notice the poetry in our lives. What do I mean? Well, poetry is one of those open-ended works of art that shines a light on all the layers of life from the mundane to the marvelous. If we viewed our lives like a never-ending poem, we may appreciate it more. Just a poetic thought. 😏 Anyway, without further adieu, here are 5 other poetic thoughts that are in the more traditional format by some of my favorite fellow bloggers...

Bloggers have the opportunity to share these good vibes with others in a multifaceted way through words, sounds, and visuals. Nothing like some wisdom in the blogosphere

Everyone has wisdom. Everyone has the ability to share their insights that provoke positivity and productivity. Everyone has an inner guru that knows the ways of the world instinctively. All we have to do is listen and be willing to share our deepest truths with one another. Nine times out of ten, they'll align with our own thoughts on life, love and what happens in between. It's always a special experience when you feel this alignment while reading a blog post. It makes you feel less alone in the world. It makes you feel empowered, passionate and motivated. It makes you feel love sweetly and profoundly. So without further adieu, here are some of my favorite posts that are filled with wisdom by fellow bloggers...

THAT MOMENT WHEN A BLOGGER MAKES YOU THINK...

There are a million and one ways to begin a conversation. One of the easiest and most effective ways is by bringing up a shared interest. That is the beauty of blogs because people gather to one spot where they read, comment and converse about a variety of topics that peaks the interest of the writer and reader. I absolutely love it when I read a blog post and I have to take a step back and think about my response because the piece pushes my previous viewpoint or it's rich with commentary that I have to take my time to see all the layers of the blogger's argument. It just makes this blogger's heart sing so without further adieu, here are some of my favorite posts from bloggers who can chit chat and present commentary in a commanding way.

10 things you can do to enjoy your snow day

If you find yourself in the middle of a snowstorm wondering what to do next with your day, then don't you worry. I got you... perhaps a little than normal but I still got you! For most introverts, it won't be hard to figure out what to do next during a snow day since we love our alone time but for extroverts, today may feel like torture. However, staying at home doesn't have to be boring at all! In fact, it can be a great time to pause and reflect, catch up on much-needed sleep, get certain chores done that you have been putting off or drink yourself into a stupor. If these ideas still don't tickle your fancy, here are 10 other things you can do during a snowstorm (if you don't have to work from home).

the words that come out when you have nothing to say

I stare at blank screens, blank pages and blank thoughts, waiting for a letter, a word, a sentence, an emotion to jolt me back to life. I walk away from the stale canvas and begin to pace in my private space - back and forth I go - collecting as many random thoughts as possible in hopes that one will be the starting point of pure magic. It's rare to have one of those magic moments as a writer or perhaps, that's just the case with me. However, I find it hard to believe that someone can have the stars align perfectly that many times unless it's someone at their highest creative state.

treat yourself the way you want to be treated

“Treat others the way you want to be treated” is a classic saying that you have probably heard many times. However, “treat you the way you want to be treated” is not a common saying but just as important.

If you were able to objectively view your inner dialogue with self, what would the conversation be like? Would it be a loving rapport? Would you consider yourself a best friend or a worst enemy? Do you belittle yourself every chance you get? Do you empower yourself sometimes? Do you tell yourself how wonderful you are? Do you say “you’re beautiful” or “good job” or “you’ll get there” or any other positive affirmation that you would normally tell your family or friends?

what's that on your neck? oh just a tracheostomy

You can say I didn't have the typical entrance into the world. I was scheduled to say hi to Mother Earth in November but my anxious ass decided that I wanted to come out during Leo season in August. (No offense to Scorpios, I represent via my ascending sign 😉) Anywho, I was one hell of a premie which caused some complications to say the least. I couldn't breathe that well and so the doctors had to do an emergency surgery and bless me with a tracheostomy. If you are like, what's that? Well, I'll have Mayo Clinic help you out.

okay so we protested, now what?

So we all know about that guy who took office in America and we also know about some crazy executive orders he has made as of late. It's possible to balance the old way of life to the new

When the Internet burst onto the scene and made a household name for itself, a lot of people saw its benefits and its weaknesses. However, I don't even think some of those naysayers would've imagined some of the major issues that have arisen since the rise of social media.

really GRAMMYs?

Before YouTube, Netflix, and even a robust cable lineup, there was the limited channels of network television. ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX were staples in American households and us, Americans, typically engaged with certain major moments as a unit whether surrounded by family, friends, or even co-workers. The annual GRAMMY Awards show was one of those special times when people would gather and watch some of America's best and most popular entertainers perform and be awarded for their incredible work.
